An Explanation of this blog

I love the Grammy's. To me, this is one of the fairest award shows that exist.

My best friend from high school who is a huge metal fan hates the grammy's and refuses to watch.

Here is the convo I had with him that will help to explain how amazing the Grammy's are.

Me- Are you watching the Grammy's, it's this weekend?
Josh- NO. The Grammy's are gay and lame. They have no idea what real music is.
Me- What do you mean?
Josh- It's all pop music and stupid boring melodies chosen by idiots who have no idea what their talking about.
Me- Well how would you set up a music awards show to decide the best music?
Josh- I don't know I would have everyone vote.
Me- Ya then Backstreet Boys win every year of the early 2000's. Or you have the soundtrack of Transformers winning because millions of retards liked that movie.
Josh- Ok fine then I would just have the top people in the industry voting.
Me- Ok, then John Coltrane jerking off for 10 mins wins because those elitist editors who listen to the most obscure shit ever will vote the most random bands in.

Here is how the actual Grammy's are voted:
36,000 people who have credits on 3 different published songs in the last 2 years vote for the awards. That means to vote you have to have written, produced, sang, or played an instrument on a published song in the last two years.

Is this the fairest system of all time ever created? No, but it is the fairest I've seen or could think up.

And to me every award is bullshit except for one. The best album of the year award.

Even a monkey could put out a hit song, or a hit record, or be voted best new artist. But an entire album of greatness? That is very difficult. The artist themselves see it as a complete album and should be judged as such.

I have listened to every best album Grammy award winner. Each year whoever wins I will always listen to their entire album as a show of respect for the winner.

This blog just lists who I think should have won each year. The voting comitee has gotten it wrong a few times. I've listened to every nominee as well.
